To the 28,000 women and girls

To the 28,000 women and girls, 2025 is a small artwork which was created in response to an article published by the UN Women announcing that more than 28,000 women and girls are predicted to have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the war in October 2023. Hand-woven in Irish Linen with supplementary weft and embroidered details.

This piece was donated to the Textiles for Palestine, a fundraiser event with a textiles exhibition and work-shops organised and curated by Craft Show, where all proceeds were donated to Thamra Project, Palestine Red Cresent Society, Tatreeze and Tea, and The Sameer Project.
